The Story Behind
the Voice & Lens.

A journey from Costa Rica to Southern California, driven by a lifelong passion for visual storytelling and authentic representation.

Sarynelli Andersen

My name is Sarynelli Andersen and I live in Irvine, CA. As far back as I can remember, I've seen the world in a different way. I suppose I've always been looking at the world through a lens before I even knew what a lens was. When I was ten years old, I realized filmmaking would be the most natural medium through which I could express myself.

After earning my B.A. in business administration at the Latin University of Costa Rica, I came back to the U.S. to finally pursue my dream of becoming a filmmaker. I started from the ground up, going to community college and studying film, interning at various film festivals, and doing countless jobs for free, until finally I was able to gain a steady list of clients and quit my day job to become a freelance videographer.

I've been lucky enough to work on a broad range of projects and as a result, my skills are also on a broad range of the filmmaking spectrum. I can direct, light, shoot, edit, and create treatments among other things. I love working on all different kinds of projects: documentary, corporate, promotional, behind-the-scenes, and more. My work has been featured on platforms like Long Beach Post and CBS Sports.

Currently I work at a software company as a video production manager. Since video production is my main job, I’ve been lucky enough to develop my passion of photography on the side, especially film photography. I started this hobby about seven years ago. My current focus is to continue developing my skills as a film photographer and bringing my work into people’s homes.

My goal is to continue to develop my style and gain experience in working with like-minded individuals who share a common goal: to make awesome visual representations and inspire.
